Impromptu Bread Meal

Last night we all arrived home a little later than normal. We had about an hour or so to put something together, no big deal. Well, it turns out that my wife met someone at the boy scouts summer camp that had a minivan FILLED with artisan day old loaves of bread. SCORE.
As you can probably guess, we don’t abide by the Atkins ‘eat no fuel’ diet and had no problem devouring a entire loaf of bread for dinner. What made it easier to choke down was a layer of read butter, fresh ‘maters, fresh parsely, some pesto, fresh crushed purply garlic, pebrella, fresh mozzarella, fresh parmesan, salt & pepper to finish. Make melty & toasty in oven. Serve.

  1. Oh my oh my oh my oh my oh my…does this ever look good (how I love fresh mozzarella with fresh ‘maters)! And it’s after 11 p.m. here in the East and I’m in my jammies already (I should have known better than to go to your website at this hour and in my ravenous condition) and can’t even go out to get ingredients to make a reasonable facsimile without getting dressed and putting shoes on. Damn, I hate being over 18! I’ve been off of Atkins for an entire week, and going wild…I’ve even been reduced to eating guacamole flavored tortilla chips. And an old box of raisins I found in my cupboard. I hope they were raisins. MEAT, please!!! Send MEAT!!!

  2. Okay! So basically what you had for dinner last night was a simple open face cheese sandwich, right?
Granted, your edition is a whole lot classier than most. In fact, yours is really outstanding and could be served with a whole array of other things at say a posh smorgesbord layout. You know, the ones with sculpted ice figures, orchid plants and real linen serviettes!

  3. Open face cheese sandwich? Naw, it was a fancy Garlic Bread. Lotsa fresh garlic. One slice, the one in the fuzzy background, was slathered with Pesto …

  4. Hey, there’s no need for name calling. You’re just upset because Smelly got business cards and you didn’t.
You going to make it this coming Sunday? If so, you get cards …
