Directly from The Fatted Calf, upcoming things this Saturday …
Mushroom Mayhem at the Market
That Taylor, he’s always thinking. When our friend Anthony, the part time mushroom picker showed up at the market a couple of weeks ago, Taylor grabbed him and asked for some goodies. What resulted will be ready for you to pick up at the Berkeley Market this Saturday. The Skinny Pork Sausage with Morels will be great on the grill or perfect with pasta this weekend, and the incredible Duck Pate with Porcini Mushrooms actually improves upon what we all thought was a pretty wonderful thing.

Crepinettes are fast becoming the most popular item at the market. A patty style sausage in a natural net-like casing, they are rich and delicious. This week they will be made from pork and duck with pistachios. Also look for our Smoked Pork Rillettes, back after their debut and subsequent sell-out last week.
For next week’s Market (Saturday April 24) we will have available for pickup 2 fresh, bone-in brined hams. We have 2 available, so e-mail us to reserve one. They will be $5.50/lb., and weigh 11 or 12 lbs. each. We will e-mail you in return to confirm your reservation.
Also, beginning Thursday, April 22nd, The Fatted Calf will be selling at the San Rafael Civic Center Market which takes place every Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Alert your North Bay friends!

  1. What’s a smoked pork rillette? I think we need some… whatever it is. Also, beef broth would be good, too. I’m feeling kinda soupy.
